EraserImg: AI Image Tools Platform

EraserImg is my personal, self-built SaaS. I started it in June 2026 and by September 2026, three months in, it was about 80% complete. The remaining 20% is Facebook and Google authentication setup, SEO, and UI improvements.

Challenges

The biggest challenge was getting the architecture right. It runs on a dual setup: Next.js for the UI and Next.js again on the backend to handle APIs, while the actual heavy processing runs through a Python Flask/FastAPI backend. Supabase is used heavily for realtime features throughout the app.

The platform has 99 tools in total. The main one is a photo editor containing 270+ specific sub-tools, plus voice generation and more.

Right now the site is performing slowly, sometimes going down, because it's still on a free hobby hosting plan that has hit its limits. I've already bought the domain, but haven't been able to move to paid servers yet due to financial constraints, which is what's causing the slowness and downtime.
